About RNAS Remediation Products, Inc.

About the Company
RNAS Remediation Products was first founded in 1998 by Bill Newman as Remediation and Natural Attenuation Services, Inc., a consulting company focused on natural attenuation studies and bioremediation services.
As part of its consulting work, RNAS began developing and supplying bioremediation products to support field applications.
In 2002, the company manufactured the first production lot of Newman Zone emulsified vegetable oil (EVO), the first commercially available EVO bioremediation product in the United States.
Following the successful development and growing demand for these products, RNAS made a deliberate decision to transition away from consulting and focus exclusively on product development and supply. This shift allowed the company to concentrate on creating reliable, field-proven solutions for in situ soil and groundwater remediation.
That focus continues to define how RNAS operates today.
RNAS avoids potential conflicts of interest by never competing with our consultant clients. We only provide remediation products and free technical support. To better reflect that we are a products company, we are now doing business as RNAS Remediation Products.
RNAS Remediation Products has continued to develop industry-leading products, now offering a full suite of bioremediation solutions available worldwide. RNAS has delivered products to the U.S. as well as Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Czechia, Denmark, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Mexico, the Netherlands, South Africa, Switzerland, and the U.K.

About Bill Newman
Bill Newman has over thirty years of experience in applying bioremediation technologies for groundwater remediation. As founder and President of RNAS Remediation Products, he has formulated, manufactured and distributed millions of kilos of bioremediation products for thousands of projects around the world.
Bill received his Bachelor’s degree in Biology/Water Science from Northern Michigan University and his Master’s degree in Environmental Health Science and Environmental Chemistry from the University of Michigan.
He started his career in consulting with the Traverse Group in 1985, working as an analytical chemist in Traverse City, Michigan. While working on the U.S. Coast Guard Air Station Project, he had the opportunity to work with John Wilson and his team of EPA scientists on some of the earliest bioremediation research projects in the country. From 1990 to 1998 he worked as a Bioremediation Specialist for Delta Environmental in Minneapolis.
Bill's field experience continues to influence the practical, performance-driven design of RNAS products.
Our Philosophy on Green and Sustainable Remediation
In situ bioremediation enhances natural microbial processes to treat soil and groundwater in place. By working within the subsurface environment, it minimizes energy use and reduces the overall environmental footprint compared to many conventional remediation methods.
RNAS focuses on practical applications of these principles. Our electron donor products are crop-derived and designed to support effective, long-term treatment while maximizing the use of renewable resources.
We also look beyond product formulation. RNAS works with partner companies to optimize manufacturing, logistics, and operations to reduce energy use and minimize waste.
Our corporate operations reflect the same approach. Our facility utilizes ground-source geothermal heating and cooling, high-efficiency lighting, and electric vehicle charging infrastructure. On-site solar panels, combined with wind-sourced power, provide 100% of our energy from carbon-free renewable sources.
Our Approach
RNAS Remediation Products focuses on product quality, practical technical support, and long-term relationships with our clients. We bring decades of bioremediation experience and in-depth knowledge of the products we have developed.
We also value the technical expertise our clients bring to each project. That collaboration is a key driver in the continued improvement of our products and their performance under real site conditions.
What Our Clients Say
"We have been using RNAS’ products ever since I saw Bill Newman’s presentation showing his Newman Zone EVO mixture and how it was more effective for use in injections than other manufacturers products. I have used RNAS’ oxygen scavenger (OS) and pH buffering compound (Neutral Zone) along with Newman Zone EVO at multiple sites throughout the US with great success. Additionally, Bill has been a great resource for information, and has sent me numerous articles discussing all aspects of microbe-facilitated reductive dechlorination of CVOCs. His guidance and expertise, along with RNAS’ products, has allowed us to successfully rapidly remediate groundwater at our sites to the point where regulatory agencies overseeing the cleanup have provided positive comments to me about the rate of degradation. I plan to continue using RNAS’s products going forward for a large site of ours in New Jersey and any other sites where we are conducting reductive dechlorination of CVOCs.'
